At least an hour, on averagePay plus tips, added up over your whole work week. If you are under, we pay the rest.
The promise
This promise is for the whole work week, not for each hour or each shift.
At the end of the week we add up all your pay and all your tips, then split it across all the hours you worked. That is your average per hour.
Some hours are slow and some are busy. That is OK. A slow morning is made up by a busy afternoon. Only the week total counts.
- We add up all the hours you worked that week.
- We check: is your week total (pay + tips) at least × your hours? Same thing as: is your average at least an hour?
- Yes? Great. You keep it all.
- No? We pay you the missing amount. We call this the top-up. It comes on that paycheck.
For every work week, your pay + tips will average at least an hour.

Tip rules
- Always ring sales under your own login. Tips go to the person who rang the sale.
- If you ring under someone else's login, the tips go to them. Not you.
- Cash tips and card tips both count.
- Card tips may have a small card fee taken out.
- No tip sharing. You keep your own tips.
- Managers and owners never take your tips.
Training pay
While you are in training, you are paid $7.25 an hour (minimum wage).
You can earn the rest back:
- Pass your training.
- Keep showing up and work at least 2 weeks on your own.
- We go back and pay you for every training hour. You get the extra per hour, for all your training hours.
Example: 20 training hours
Paid during training: 20 × $7.25$145
Should be: 20 ×
Paid back to you after 2 weeks on your own+
Your paycheck
Your pay stub shows these lines:
No top-up that week? That line shows $0.
About taxes
All the numbers on this page are your pay before taxes.
Like every job in the U.S., a small part of each paycheck goes to taxes. This includes things like income tax, Social Security, and Medicare. So the money that lands in your bank (your take-home pay) will be a bit less than the total.
- This is the same at every job. It is the law, not a Golden Glaze rule.
- Your pay, tips, and top-up are all still yours. The tax just gets sent to the government for you.
- Social Security and Medicare are money you pay in now that comes back to you later, for retirement and health care.
- Your pay stub shows each tax line, so you can always see where every dollar went.
